Resources for Home-Based Instruction

Other than those items specifically required by the statute, all decisions relating to philosophy or doctrine, selection of books, teaching materials, and curriculum methods, etc. are the responsibility of the parent/guardian. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to provide the materials and equipment necessary to meet the planned objectives for
home-based instruction.

Puyallup Parent Partnership Program
The Puyallup School District offers a program through Puyallup Digital Learning called the Puyallup Parent Partnership Program (P4). P4 is a program which offers support with a certificated teacher to help parents create their students' learning plan, as well as monitor weekly and monthly progress. Using a web-based program called Wings, our teachers will help to support your students' learning and support you with teaching strategies and materials. We offer onsite classes designed to support the home learning experience and we work with you to select appropriate core and supplemental materials for your students' learning styles and levels. To ensure each student is learning, we monitor progress using standards-based assessments three times each year -- Fall, Winter, and Spring. DIBELS (dynamic inventory of basic early literacy skills) is used for grades kindergarten through grade two while STAR is used for grades two and up. Additionally, we accommodate state required assessments by coordinating those assessments at this site. For more information, you may visit us or contact us at:
