1984 Audition Information

Dear Auditioner-

Thank you for your interest in auditioning for 1984.

Please note that this is very dramatic play with some dark themes. If you are not familiar with this play, I highly suggest reading the book 1984 by George Orwell. You may also research online for more information about the themes presented in this play. See Mr. Hill with any questions you may have.

THURSDAY, MARCH 15 from 2:45 – 6:00 p.m.

If you would like to audition for a speaking role, you will need to do the following:

- Sign up for an audition appointment with Mr. Hill. You can email him or stop by 125 or the PAC to sign up in person.
- Fill out an audition form.
- Prepare a 30-60 second dramatic monologue
(The monologue must be one that is already published. Use your favorite search engine.)
- You will perform the following readings as well: Winston-Julia
(Regardless of your gender, you will be asked to read for both roles.)
- Read through the character descriptions so you are familiar with them.
- Look through the rehearsal calendar and list any conflict.
(If you miss rehearsals that are not listed on your form, your role may be recast.)
